Spanish chef Juanjo Canals returns to Portland for his fifth culinary trip to present an multi-course all-inclusive dinner with fellow Madrid chef Jorge Baeza and wine pairings from Analemma Wines, whose estate vineyards feature Spanish varietals from Galicia. Juanjo and Jorge will design a menu based around a giant sustainable Balfegó Bluefin Tuna imported by La Ruta PDX for this event. Spinning by DJ Mixed Messages. Full bar available for purchase. Juanjo Canals is the chef/owner of Madrid’s Con Amor and Despecho Con Amor restaurants. At Con Amor, they understand that the main ingredient in life as well as in the kitchen is love and they use it in large quantities is all their dishes. This is Juanjo’s fifth culinary visit to Portland as a Chef in Residence at PLAZA DEL TORO and La Ruta PDX.



Jorge is the restaurateur behind several Madrid restaurants including acclaimed paella eatery Arrocería Balear and popular Madrid night club, Oh My Club. 


Founded by Steven Thompson and Kris Fade in 2010, Analemma Wines was built upon the opportunity to lease one of the oldest vineyards in the Pacific Northwest: The Atavus Vineyard. With just twelve acres of history and a vision, the two set out to breathe life back into the old vines, ferment rare fruit and bottle a truly unique vinous expression of the Columbia Gorge.
